HAPPINESS AND ITS CAUSESWeekend Retreat: 19 & 20 July
All beings want happiness and don’t want suffering. Yet we constantly create the causes for suffering in our lives. This is because we don’t understand the true causes of happiness, that are cultivated within and do not depend on outer circumstances. Happiness is not an emotion but a skill that can be learnt. Genuine happiness comes from an exceptionally healthy mind that pervades all our experience. At its heart, Buddhism is very practical. It's about doing things that foster serenity, happiness and confidence, and avoiding things that provoke anxiety, hopelessness and fear. Learn how to stop creating suffering, and how to start creating the causes and conditions for happiness and well-being. Cultivate positive attributes and connect with your basic goodness and happiness.

THE MIRACLE OF MINDFULNESSWeekend Retreat: 16 & 17 August
Mindfulness teaches you to be present to the moment-to-moment unfolding of life. The present moment is the doorway to freedom. It is the place of power, the place from which we create our experience of life. This retreat will explain the relationship between mindfulness and our actions of body, speech and mind. Understanding this empowers you to take responsibility for your life through the miracle of mindfulness. You will learn how to relax your body, manage your feelings and emotions, and bring peace to your mind. You will learn how to calmly abide in the present moment, mindfully and at peace with what is. You will learn how to be present with yourself in a peaceful, positive and powerful way.

MINDFULNESS TRAINING COURSEOne Week Course: 22 - 26 SeptemberA secular course based on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness Tune in and get connected to your body, feelings, mind, and life
When you are connected and enjoy a sense of oneness with your body, feelings, mind, and life, then you open to and fully experience the miracle of being alive. Each moment is new and fresh and you enjoy greater energy and appreciation for life. The Mindfulness Course includes practical exercises to increase awareness in everyday life, and to help you arrive at greater self-understanding and peacefulness. There will be daily teachings, instruction and practice of mindfulness, each day focusing on and cultivating one of the 4 Foundations of Mindfulness. Includes 6 nights accommodation in our self-catering cottages.

VIPASSANA MEDITATIONWeekend Retreat: 25 & 26 October
We suffer because our minds are not free. We are in the grip of negative thoughts, emotions and habits. The inability to manage our thoughts is a principal cause of suffering. Learning to tone down the ceaseless cascade of disturbing thoughts is a big step on the road to inner peace. Through meditation practice we learn how to let go and step into freedom. Learn the techniques of calm abiding (shamatha) meditation so that you can be more peaceful, relaxed and at ease. Increase your understanding of yourself and of life with Vipassana (insight) meditation so that you can free yourself from self-limiting thoughts and emotions that destroy your happiness and peace of mind.

A secular course comprising weekly 2-hour sessions teaching how to move towards greater health and well-being, using meditation as a tool for self-healing.
