THE MIRACLE OF MINDFULNESS Retreat with Leela
Breathe, You are Alive!
Breathe and you know that you are alive Breathe and you know that all is helping you Breathe and you know that you are the world Breathe and you know the flower is breathing too Breathe for yourself and breathe for the world Breathe in compassion and breathe out joy
Breathe and be one with the air that you breathe Breathe and be one with the river that flows Breathe and be one with the earth that you tread Breathe and be one with the fire that glows Breathe and you’ll break the thought of birth and death Breathe and you’ll see impermanence is life
Breathe for your joy to be steady and calm Breathe for your sorrow to flow away Breathe to renew every cell in your blood Breathe to renew the depths of consciousness Breathe and you’ll dwell in the here and now Breathe and all you touch is new and real Breathe …
[Song for the Practice of Mindfulness]
Our thoughts have a lot of power over our state of mind: they can make us happy and they can make us miserable. A thought does not arise from nothing. There is a ground from which it arises. In our mind there are territories of fear, anger, worry, depression, misunderstanding, and our negative thinking and emotions spin out from these territories. We think a lot of the time, and many of our thoughts are not very positive. It is easy for us to become a victim of negative thinking. This kind of thinking is WRONG THINKING.
In our mind there are also vast territories of compassion and wisdom, the capacity of understanding and of loving. We can learn to get in touch with these territories and they will give rise to many wonderful thoughts in the line of RIGHT THINKING. When you are able to produce a thought that goes in the direction of understanding and love, in the direction of right thinking, that thought will have an immediate effect on your physical and mental health. And at the same time it has a positive effect on the health of the world.
Our mind has a lot of power. If you know how to make use of this power, you can transform the situation. You can bring a lot of light, joy and compassion into the situation. The Practice of Mindful Breathing and Mindful Walking gives you space and allows the positive elements within you to intervene. I HAVE A TREASURE of understanding, compassion, love and wisdom in me, and I want these elements to come forward to help me sort out this situation, to help me be on the right path. Breathe in, and breathe out, and give the wonderful positive elements within yourself a chance to manifest. Then the present moment becomes a wonderful moment, thanks to the MIRACLE OF MINDFULNESS.
We had affectionate, courageous, reliable, creative, kind, sensitive, enthusiastic, eager to learn, generous, sincere, loyal, compassionate, humorous, trustworthy, thoughtful, good, understanding, dedicated, kind-hearted, tolerant, accepting, fair, just, gentle, peaceful, non-violent, spiritual, mindful and aware WONDERFUL people on the Retreat.
